Overactive Bladder 8-question Screener - OAB-q

Introduction

This tool combines the Overactive Bladder-Validated 8-question Screener and the Patient Perception of Bladder Condition (PPBC) to help evaluate bladder symptoms which otherwise would be difficult to diagnose because of the absence of physiological markers of disease.  The combination of a multi-item tool such as Overactive Bladder screener, with a singe-item global question helps to improve the initial interpretation as well as provide a great tool for reassessing a patient after treatment.  Multiple studies have found the psychometric nature of the OAB-q to be be both reliable and valid when used to assess patients with OAB symptoms.

Instructions:
The following questions refer to selected bladder symptoms that may have existed during the past 4 weeks.   Please select the choice that best describes each symptom.   Also, every question must be answered.  A score of 8 or greater indicates a strong association with overactive bladder. Thankfully, there are several effective treatments available for this condition.
