Release evidence and recording details
First released: 1994 (year verified)
The label explicitly documents the 1994 single before the original II album. That original year supersedes the inconsistent 1995 field attached to the current distributor item.

Classic Motown - original II album and preceding single
The label identifies the original August 1994 album and the preceding I'll Make Love to You single in the same year. This supersedes the distributor's inconsistent 1995 title-recording field; exact chart dates are not treated as release days. | Reviewed 2026-10-18
II - original Motown program
The original program identifies On Bended Knee, Water Runs Dry and Thank You in 1994. The inherited 1995 I'll Make Love to You item and January 1 album placeholder do not override the label's explicit 1994 history. | Reviewed 2026-10-18

About Boyz II Men
Boyz II Men joined Philadelphia vocal traditions with Motown and the rhythm of contemporary R&B. Nathan Morris, Michael McCary, Shawn Stockman and Wanya Morris formed the quartet introduced through Cooleyhighharmony. Their repertoire moved between rhythmic songs such as Motownphilly and layered ballads including End of the Road. The album II continued that emphasis on harmony with I'll Make Love to You and On Bended Knee.
