ARTIST BACKGROUND

About Diana Ross

Diana Ross began her recording career with the Supremes, the Detroit vocal group associated with Motown's 1960s pop and soul sound. Her separate solo career brought Ain't No Mountain High Enough on her 1970 debut album. She also moved into film, portraying Billie Holiday in Lady Sings the Blues in 1972. The Supremes' recordings, her solo records and later duets belong to related but distinct credits, reflecting the different settings in which she performed.
