ARTIST BACKGROUND

About Diana Ross

Diana Ross began her recording career with the Supremes, the Detroit vocal group associated with Motown's 1960s pop and soul sound. Her separate solo career brought Ain't No Mountain High Enough on her 1970 debut album. She also moved into film, portraying Billie Holiday in Lady Sings the Blues in 1972. The Supremes' recordings, her solo records and later duets belong to related but distinct credits, reflecting the different settings in which she performed.

About this artist collection

Diana Ross's solo identity remains separate from the Supremes. The original Marvin Gaye and Lionel Richie duets retain both lead singers. The selected Endless Love uses the same original joint recording and full credit as the Lionel Richie collection, rather than the later solo album performance.

First released means the earliest documented official public release of the selected recording. A year-only date does not assert a month or day. Later singles, chart years, compilations, remasters and reissues do not replace that date.
