Diana - original issued program and separate Chic mixes
The original issued 1980 program identifies Upside Down and I'm Coming Out. Separately named Original CHIC Mix items and the extended alternate Love Hangover are not the selected original productions. Inherited bonus years are not treated as first public dates of those alternatives. | Reviewed 2026-10-18

Annual version match under review

The selected recording has release evidence, but its version has not been matched to the retained annual entry. It is omitted from Beyond the yearly lists until this match is resolved.

The collection explicitly selects the issued 1980 album mix, separate from the later-released production labeled Original CHIC Mix. The real annual candidate does not supply a mix identifier, so the edition link is retained provisionally without redating the selected recording.

ARTIST BACKGROUND

About Diana Ross

Diana Ross began her recording career with the Supremes, the Detroit vocal group associated with Motown's 1960s pop and soul sound. Her separate solo career brought Ain't No Mountain High Enough on her 1970 debut album. She also moved into film, portraying Billie Holiday in Lady Sings the Blues in 1972. The Supremes' recordings, her solo records and later duets belong to related but distinct credits, reflecting the different settings in which she performed.
