About Creedence Clearwater Revival
Creedence Clearwater Revival came from El Cerrito, California, despite the Southern settings evoked by its roots-rock and blues sound. John and Tom Fogerty, Stu Cook and Doug Clifford had played together before adopting the Creedence name. Their 1968 debut was followed by a concentrated run of albums including Bayou Country, Green River and Willy and the Poor Boys, with songs such as Proud Mary and Fortunate Son.
