ARTIST BACKGROUND

About Barry Manilow

Barry Manilow is a singer, composer, arranger and producer whose work connects popular song with theatre, film and orchestral performance. Albums such as Singin' with the Big Bands, Showstoppers and Manilow Sings Sinatra explore established song traditions. His production work includes recordings by Bette Midler, Nancy Wilson and Dionne Warwick. He has also written music for films, including Thumbelina and The Pebble and the Penguin, and developed the stage musical Harmony. Here at the Mayflower presents another setting for his original songwriting.

About this artist collection

The retained Barry Manilow solo identity and existing sourced biography remain unchanged. The 1975 reworked Could It Be Magic is kept separate from the 1973 Bell and earlier Featherbed productions. Blue and Big City Blues preserve their different duet partners.

First released means the earliest documented official public release of the selected recording. A year-only date does not assert a month or day. Later singles, chart years, compilations, remasters and reissues do not replace that date.
