ARTIST BACKGROUND

About Eminem

Eminem emerged from Detroit's rap scene with a rapid delivery, densely constructed rhymes and the provocative alter ego Slim Shady. The Slim Shady LP and The Marshall Mathers LP brought that character into songs that mixed dark humor with personal and social conflict. Stan used a fictional fan's correspondence as narrative, while Lose Yourself connected his music with the film 8 Mile. Later recordings, including Recovery, continued his exploration of personal struggle through sharply articulated, often confrontational performances.

About this artist collection

Eminem is the solo artist, including explicitly credited collaborations and a guest role on Dr. Dre's 1999 recording. D12 and Bad Meets Evil remain separate acts. All selected editions are the original explicit program recordings; actual annual rows without edition metadata are linked provisionally.

First released means the earliest documented official public release of the selected recording. A year-only date does not assert a month or day. Later singles, chart years, compilations, remasters and reissues do not replace that date.
