ARTIST BACKGROUND

About Pink Floyd

Pink Floyd developed from Syd Barrett's psychedelic singles into extended studio pieces and albums built around connected themes. Roger Waters, David Gilmour, Richard Wright and Nick Mason shaped the later catalog, which explored social pressures as well as personal experience. The Dark Side of the Moon appeared in 1973, followed by Wish You Were Here in 1975 and The Wall in 1979. The group's official discography also separates later studio albums, live performances and remixes from those original recordings.

About this artist collection

Retains the Pink Floyd group identity across its documented lineups. Syd Barrett, Roger Waters and David Gilmour solo releases are separate. The selected Money is the 1973 group album recording, not the 1981 re-recording.

First released means the earliest documented official public release of the selected recording. A year-only date does not assert a month or day. Later singles, chart years, compilations, remasters and reissues do not replace that date.
