ARTIST BACKGROUND

About Neil Diamond

Neil Diamond gained recognition as a songwriter before becoming widely known as a recording performer. His catalog includes compact pop songs such as Solitary Man and Cherry, Cherry, as well as the ballads I Am... I Said and September Morn. You Don't Bring Me Flowers brought a duet with Barbra Streisand. Sweet Caroline also developed a life beyond records through communal singing at sporting events.

About this artist collection

Retains the eligible Neil Diamond solo identity and explicitly links the annual Barbra Streisand & Neil Diamond duet credit for that shared performance. Bang originals, later solo remakes, duet rerecordings, concert performances and new orchestral vocals remain separate.

First released means the earliest documented official public release of the selected recording. A year-only date does not assert a month or day. Later singles, chart years, compilations, remasters and reissues do not replace that date.
