ARTIST BACKGROUND

About The Doors

The Doors formed in Los Angeles around Jim Morrison, Ray Manzarek, Robby Krieger and John Densmore. Their 1967 debut introduced songs including Break on Through and Light My Fire. Six studio albums with Morrison developed a repertoire drawing on rock, blues and extended song forms; later band albums and individual members' solo work form separate parts of their history.

About this artist collection

The Doors is the group identity of Morrison, Manzarek, Krieger and Densmore for this selected period. Member solo projects, later poetry constructions and post-Morrison albums are not reassigned to these recordings.

First released means the earliest documented official public release of the selected recording. A year-only date does not assert a month or day. Later singles, chart years, compilations, remasters and reissues do not replace that date.
