ARTIST BACKGROUND

About Duran Duran

Duran Duran emerged in the British new-wave era, combining synthesizers with rock guitars and detailed arrangements built around pop melodies. Early touring included opening for Hazel O'Connor in 1980. The band became closely associated with music video as well as arena performance. Girls on Film, Hungry Like the Wolf and Ordinary World reflect different parts of its recording repertoire.

About this artist collection

Uses the retained Duran Duran band identity. Arcadia, the Power Station and member solo work are separate acts. Original singles, original album mixes, revised singles, Night Versions and concert performances are distinguished explicitly; one principal recording or presentation is selected for each song.

First released means the earliest documented official public release of the selected recording. A year-only date does not assert a month or day. Later singles, chart years, compilations, remasters and reissues do not replace that date.
