ARTIST BACKGROUND

About Richard Marx

Richard Marx is a Chicago-born performer, songwriter and producer whose solo catalog includes Hold On to the Nights, Right Here Waiting and Hazard. His early albums moved from the self-titled debut through Repeat Offender and Rush Street. He also built a substantial writing career for other singers, contributing to This I Promise You for NSYNC and Dance with My Father with Luther Vandross. Acoustic concerts offered another setting for his own songs.

About this artist collection

Uses the retained Richard Marx solo identity. The original Capitol studio recordings are selected separately from Revisited renditions, acoustic remakes, concert performances and duets billed with other performers. Existing artist context is reused.

First released means the earliest documented official public release of the selected recording. A year-only date does not assert a month or day. Later singles, chart years, compilations, remasters and reissues do not replace that date.
