About The Beach Boys
The Beach Boys formed in Hawthorne, California in 1961 around brothers Brian, Carl and Dennis Wilson, their cousin Mike Love and friend Al Jardine. They signed with Capitol and released Surfin' Safari in 1962. The early guitar-and-harmony sound developed into increasingly detailed studio arrangements as Brian concentrated on writing and production. Pet Sounds combined elaborate backing tracks with the group's vocals, while subsequent albums brought different instrumental settings and member contributions. Their group recordings remain separate from the members' solo catalogs.
