Renal guidance at a glance

Cautions / source differences (1)
Review first - source-specific qualification

Use the monograph formulation, not inconsistent index wording

The body and dosage-form sections distinguish release types despite inconsistent index labels. Renal guidance emphasizes urinary targets and toxicity monitoring.

Before applying: Keep release identity and the proteinuria stop/monitor instruction together.

Evidence for this qualification

Source-specific qualification; independent clinician review pending.

Confirm the product, indication and renal measure. The selected summary is not a complete prescribing monograph.

Renal measure
Urinary cystine, mg/L; proteinuria and renal-function monitoring

RX mirror: this is not independent corroboration of its underlying label. Check dated-label and formulation limitations.

Selected sections only. Source mirror and underlying label are not independent confirmations.

Renal dosing, restrictions and evidence limits

Measure urinary cystine after 1 month and every 3 months thereafter; adjust therapy toward urinary cystine below 250 mg/L. Assess urine protein before therapy and every 3-6 months. If proteinuria develops, stop treatment, follow urinary protein and renal function, and consider a lower dose only after proteinuria resolves.

Renal excretion and proteinuria/nephrotic toxicity warrant monitoring, but the selected source does not supply a CrCl-based reduction schedule. Product identity here follows the monograph body and dosage-form section, not the inconsistent T-index wording. Do not infer release-type interchangeability or a dialysis regimen.

Exact product and population matter. This added page contains locally stored, source-specific clinical summaries. Historical handbook information, when present, is identified separately and may conflict with U.S. labeling.
