Usual Dosing (Adults)
RESCRIPTOR 400 mg (four 100 mg or two 200 mg tablets) three times daily, in combination with other antiretroviral therapy. Consult complete prescribing information of partner drugs.
The 100 mg tablets can be dispersed: place four in at least 3 ounces of water, let stand a few minutes, stir to a uniform dispersion, consume promptly, then rinse the glass with water and swallow the rinse. The 200 mg tablets should be taken intact because they do not disperse readily; they are approximately one-third smaller than 100 mg tablets.
May take with or without food. Achlorhydria: take with an acidic beverage, e.g. orange/cranberry juice, although the source notes that the effect in achlorhydric patients has not been investigated. Separate antacids by at least 1 hour.
