Inspiration and background
Researched recording background
Bette Midler recorded Wind Beneath My Wings for the Beaches soundtrack, released in 1988. The single followed in 1989, when it reached a much wider radio audience and later received Grammy recognition. Keeping the soundtrack and single years separate avoids dating the recording solely by its chart peak.
Evidence scope: Source-supported recording, release and career context; personal songwriting inspiration is not inferred.
