ARTIST BACKGROUND

About Skid Row

Song-specific inspiration or recording background is not established for this entry. This sourced artist profile provides career context.

Skid Row grew out of the New Jersey rock scene around the songwriting partnership of bassist Rachel Bolan and guitarist Dave 'Snake' Sabo. Guitarist Scotti Hill joined as the group developed a forceful combination of hard rock and punk energy. Its self-titled debut and Slave to the Grind established a catalog that includes Youth Gone Wild and 18 and Life. Decades later, producer Nick Raskulinecz worked with the band on The Gang's All Here, encouraging a renewed emphasis on its ensemble sound.
