September Morn
Neil Diamond
1980
Annual listening-list association, not an original-release-date field. Original release year reconciled with reviewed recording-specific Artist Essentials evidence in v3.6.
Release: 1979
Release: 1979Source checked | Recent carryover
V3.6 reconciles the original release year with the reviewed Artist Essentials entry for this exact retained recording ID. Year precision is used; an album-first release is not silently replaced by a later single, reissue or annual-list year. The licensed original recording metadata establishes 1979. The official archive page's 1980 album label and the retained annual 1980 appearance are later context; the 2014 license notice is also not its first release.
The large badge identifies this listening list, not a newly issued recording. Later reissues and renewed chart popularity do not replace an original release date. How years are assigned.

September Morn - Capitol licensed original album date
The licensed album metadata and title-track date identify 1979. This resolves the artist archive's later 1980 label for this collection. The 2014 license/copyright line and 1980 annual-list appearance do not replace the original 1979 year.
