About Slade
Song-specific inspiration or recording background is not established for this entry. This sourced artist profile provides career context.
Slade developed from the Midlands group the 'N Betweens into a prominent British glam-rock act. The familiar quartet brought together Noddy Holder, Jim Lea, Dave Hill and Don Powell. Working with manager and producer Chas Chandler, they turned an energetic live sound and Holder-Lea songwriting into records such as Coz I Luv You and Cum On Feel the Noize, with conspicuous stage clothes reinforcing their visual identity.
