About The Hollies
Song-specific inspiration or recording background is not established for this entry. This sourced artist profile provides career context.
The Hollies grew from Allan Clarke and Graham Nash's musical partnership in Manchester. Their early beat-group recordings combined harmonies with guitar-led arrangements, moving from R&B covers into original songs. Bus Stop, Carrie-Anne and Stop Stop Stop became part of their 1960s repertoire. After Nash's departure, the band continued through personnel changes and later records including Long Cool Woman (In a Black Dress) and The Air That I Breathe.
