About Audioslave
Song-specific inspiration or recording background is not established for this entry. This sourced artist profile provides career context.
Audioslave brought Soundgarden singer Chris Cornell together with guitarist Tom Morello, bassist Tim Commerford and drummer Brad Wilk from Rage Against the Machine. The partnership developed through rehearsals before recording its self-titled 2002 debut with producer Rick Rubin. Cochise introduced the band's combination of Cornell's singing and the instrumental trio's rock arrangements. International touring followed, and the second album, Out of Exile, continued the Rubin production partnership in 2005.
