About The Tymes
Song-specific inspiration or recording background is not established for this entry. This sourced artist profile provides career context.
The Tymes grew out of Philadelphia's vocal-group circuit as the Latineers, with Donald Banks, Albert Berry, Norman Burnett and George Hilliard among the founding singers. The group adopted its better-known name and added lead vocalist George Williams before signing with Cameo-Parkway. So Much in Love introduced its close-harmony sound to a national audience. The early repertoire also included Wonderful, Wonderful and Somewhere, followed by a later recording of People.
