Inspiration and background
Researched recording background
This John-Taupin song appears on The Big Picture, a studio album dedicated to Elton's late friend Gianni Versace. Chris Thomas produced the album, with orchestral arrangements credited to Guy Babylon and Anne Dudley. The album dedication is documented; it does not establish that this individual song was written about Versace.
Evidence scope: Official album dedication, original track membership and album-level production credits; no individual-song inspiration inferred from the dedication.
