RELEASE DATE & LIST YEAR

Release: 1976

Release: 1976Source checked

V3.6 reconciles the original release year with the reviewed Artist Essentials entry for this exact retained recording ID. Year precision is used; an album-first release is not silently replaced by a later single, reissue or annual-list year. The original studio recording was released in 1976 and belongs to the original Crystal Ball program. Year precision does not assign an album day to a single or a later reissue.

The large badge identifies this listening list, not a newly issued recording. Later reissues and renewed chart popularity do not replace an original release date. How years are assigned.

Styx - official original studio album catalog
The official original Crystal Ball section supplies its 1976 release and studio tracklist. Other albums, later rerecordings, digital-store availability and day-level territorial assumptions are outside this source scope.

Styx - Universal Music Enterprises original album history
A release supplied by Universal Music Enterprises, not independent press commentary. It explicitly gives original A&M album years and names their studio selections, distinguishing the 1984 live album and subsequent 1990 studio return from the 2015 vinyl box publication.

Styx formed in Chicago around Dennis DeYoung and brothers Chuck and John Panozzo, making its record debut in 1972.
