About Garbage
Song-specific inspiration or recording background is not established for this entry. This sourced artist profile provides career context.
Garbage brought Shirley Manson's vocals together with a rock band that included producer Butch Vig, already known for studio work with Nirvana and the Smashing Pumpkins. Its self-titled debut appeared in 1995, followed by Version 2.0 in 1998. Beautiful Garbage and Bleed Like Me extended the recording catalog, with international performances accompanying the albums. A later pause preceded renewed recording activity, keeping the group distinct from its members' separate production work.
