RELEASE DATE & LIST YEAR

Release: 1988

Release: 1988Source checked | Recent carryover

V3.6 reconciles the original release year with the reviewed Artist Essentials entry for this exact retained recording ID. Year precision is used; an album-first release is not silently replaced by a later single, reissue or annual-list year. Original 1988 recording; year precision avoids assigning a later single campaign, concert, remaster or annual-list date as the first release.

The large badge identifies this listening list, not a newly issued recording. Later reissues and renewed chart popularity do not replace an original release date. How years are assigned.

Out of Order - original album and selected songs
The distributor identifies the original 1988 album and explicitly names Forever Young and My Heart Can't Tell You No, apart from a separate bonus edition.

Rod Stewart - original Warner studio album years
The label explicitly lists the original studio album years from Atlantic Crossing in 1975 to Vagabond Heart in 1991. The 2019 box release does not replace original recording years.
