About Heatwave
Song-specific inspiration or recording background is not established for this entry. This sourced artist profile provides career context.
Heatwave developed around singer Johnnie Wilder after his military service in Germany, later establishing a base in England. The group included his brother Keith and keyboardist-songwriter Rod Temperton. Too Hot to Handle introduced Boogie Nights and Always and Forever, and Central Heating continued the blend of dance rhythms and ballads. Temperton later wrote for other performers while maintaining a connection with Heatwave's repertoire, and subsequent lineups continued the band's recording work.
