Annual listening-list association, not an original-release-date field. Original release year reconciled with reviewed recording-specific Artist Essentials evidence in v3.6.
Release: 1984
Release: 1984Source checked
V3.6 reconciles the original release year with the reviewed Artist Essentials entry for this exact retained recording ID. Year precision is used; an album-first release is not silently replaced by a later single, reissue or annual-list year. The official artist chronology identifies this as a new 1984 studio recording for Arena and its original single. The surrounding Arena concert recordings and the live single B-side do not make this song a live performance.
The large badge identifies this listening list, not a newly issued recording. Later reissues and renewed chart popularity do not replace an original release date. How years are assigned.

Duran Duran - The Reflex remix and The Wild Boys studio single
The artist chronology places the released Reflex single in 1984 and identifies The Wild Boys as a Nile Rodgers-produced studio recording made for the otherwise live Arena project, followed by its 1984 single. The live B-side and concert album performances are explicitly separate.
Duran Duran - original early single identities and separately labeled versions
The licensed program identifies the original Is There Something I Should Know single in 1983, Union of the Snake in 1983, A View to a Kill in 1985 and The Wild Boys in 1984. It also distinguishes studio originals, Night Versions and live B-sides. Incorrect inherited 1983 metadata on the later Reflex single and live material is overridden by the official 1984 chronology.
