V3.6 reconciles the original release year with the reviewed Artist Essentials entry for this exact retained recording ID. Year precision is used; an album-first release is not silently replaced by a later single, reissue or annual-list year. The original recording is documented in the 2017 release history of Cold. Only year precision is assigned; later singles, charts, remasters and live versions do not establish its first release.
The large badge identifies this listening list, not a newly issued recording. Later reissues and renewed chart popularity do not replace an original release date. How years are assigned.
Cold - original Future collaboration single
Original February 2017 Interscope single and complete Future credit, before the later album program.
About Maroon 5
Song-specific inspiration or recording background is not established for this entry. This sourced artist profile provides career context.
Maroon 5 emerged in Los Angeles after members of Kara's Flowers regrouped with guitarist James Valentine. Songs About Jane combined rock guitars, keyboard-led grooves and R&B phrasing around Adam Levine's high lead voice. Later albums moved toward electronic pop and collaborations with singers and rappers while retaining concise melodic hooks. The group's catalog also makes room for restrained ballads, with a renewed emphasis on groove in the 2025 Love Is Like chapter.
