V3.6 reconciles the original release year with the reviewed Artist Essentials entry for this exact retained recording ID. Year precision is used; an album-first release is not silently replaced by a later single, reissue or annual-list year. The artist announcement establishes the new 2021 recording. Dates of the older Elton songs incorporated into it do not establish this collaboration's first release. This selected recording was released in 2021; dates of the older songs incorporated into it are not its release date.

About Elton John
Song-specific inspiration or recording background is not established for this entry. This sourced artist profile provides career context.
Elton John's career combines piano playing, singing and composition with a long songwriting partnership with lyricist Bernie Taupin. The two were brought together in 1967, before the debut album Empty Sky and the early breakthrough of Your Song. His records encompass rock songs and ballads, while elaborate stage presentation became another part of his public identity. His work for musical theatre and film extends that recording career into other performance settings and writing partnerships.
