Inspiration and background
Documented songwriting inspiration
Kandi Burruss began the idea and developed it with Tameka Cottle and producer Kevin Briggs. They initially considered it for their own project, before Dallas Austin brought it to TLC. Chilli took the lead vocal, and Lisa Lopes contributed a separate rap version. The song sets boundaries against an unwanted, unreliable suitor.
