About Shakespears Sister
Song-specific inspiration or recording background is not established for this entry. This sourced artist profile provides career context.
Shakespears Sister began as Siobhan Fahey's project after leaving Bananarama, then became a duo when singer and songwriter Marcella Detroit joined her. Their contrasting voices shaped the albums Sacred Heart and Hormonally Yours, with You're History and Stay becoming major parts of the repertoire. Fahey later made records alone under the same name. The two singers eventually reunited for performances and the Ride Again EP, including work with guest Richard Hawley.
