Union of the Snake
Duran Duran
1984
Annual listening-list association, not an original-release-date field. Original release year reconciled with reviewed recording-specific Artist Essentials evidence in v3.6.
Release: 1983
Release: 1983Source checked | Recent carryover
V3.6 reconciles the original release year with the reviewed Artist Essentials entry for this exact retained recording ID. Year precision is used; an album-first release is not silently replaced by a later single, reissue or annual-list year. The original 1983 studio single and same-year album program establish the release year. The retained 1984 annual carryover is not a new first release.
The large badge identifies this listening list, not a newly issued recording. Later reissues and renewed chart popularity do not replace an original release date. How years are assigned.
Owner-supplied release annotations
Reported dates in 1983.html, 1984.html. Not independently established; neighboring dates can reflect album/single or regional differences.
Duran Duran - original early single identities and separately labeled versions
The licensed program identifies the original Is There Something I Should Know single in 1983, Union of the Snake in 1983, A View to a Kill in 1985 and The Wild Boys in 1984. It also distinguishes studio originals, Night Versions and live B-sides. Incorrect inherited 1983 metadata on the later Reflex single and live material is overridden by the official 1984 chronology.
Duran Duran - original first five album years and programs
The official artist announcement identifies the original Seven and the Ragged Tiger album as 1983 and reproduces its original program. Later single editions are reviewed separately; the present reissue is not a first-release date.
