About Blondie
Song-specific inspiration or recording background is not established for this entry. This sourced artist profile provides career context.
Blondie formed in New York around singer and songwriter Debbie Harry and guitarist Chris Stein. The band developed through downtown venues including CBGB's, bringing concise pop hooks into the city's punk and new wave scene. Their recordings also drew on disco, reggae and rap. Work with producer Mike Chapman on Parallel Lines helped shape songs such as Heart of Glass. After an extended break, No Exit reunited the band on record, with Maria introducing that phase of their catalog.
