RELEASE DATE & LIST YEAR

Release: 1993

Release: 1993Source checked | Recent carryover

V3.6 reconciles the original release year with the reviewed Artist Essentials entry for this exact retained recording ID. Year precision is used; an album-first release is not silently replaced by a later single, reissue or annual-list year. Original 1993 recording on Get a Grip. Year precision is retained; the album association is not an assertion of an exact first-release day.

The large badge identifies this listening list, not a newly issued recording. Later reissues and renewed chart popularity do not replace an original release date. How years are assigned.

ARTIST BACKGROUND

About Aerosmith

Song-specific inspiration or recording background is not established for this entry. This sourced artist profile provides career context.

Aerosmith developed a guitar-centered rock sound in Boston, with Steven Tyler and Joe Perry joined by Brad Whitford, Tom Hamilton and Joey Kramer. Their 1973 debut introduced Dream On and Mama Kin, while Toys in the Attic and Rocks expanded the studio catalog during the following years. The later Permanent Vacation and Pump albums place that riff vocabulary beside larger melodic refrains and ballad arrangements. The group also recorded the Armageddon soundtrack song I Don't Want to Miss a Thing, extending this range into orchestral pop.
