About Cassius
Song-specific inspiration or recording background is not established for this entry. This sourced artist profile provides career context.
Cassius began as the Parisian partnership of Hubert Blanc-Francard, known as Boombass, and Philippe Zdar. Work with MC Solaar and their earlier La Funk Mob project preceded the album 1999. Their records combined house rhythms with disco, funk and hip-hop elements, while Au Reve and Ibifornia extended the project into more song-centered collaborations and pop arrangements.
