About INXS
Song-specific inspiration or recording background is not established for this entry. This sourced artist profile provides career context.
INXS began as the Farriss Brothers on Sydney's Northern Beaches, playing their first show in 1977. The early band combined Michael Hutchence's vocals with guitars, keyboards, bass, drums and Kirk Pengilly's saxophone. A self-titled debut album followed in 1980. Listen Like Thieves and Kick became central to the group's international recording and touring career during the second half of the decade.
