About Oasis
Song-specific inspiration or recording background is not established for this entry. This sourced artist profile provides career context.
Oasis formed in Manchester and became prominent in the 1990s through a direct, guitar-based rock sound and large, memorable choruses. Liam Gallagher's lead vocals and Noel Gallagher's guitar playing and songwriting were central to the band. Definitely Maybe appeared in 1994, followed by the wider breakthrough of (What's the Story) Morning Glory? After the band's 2009 breakup, Beady Eye and Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds developed as separate projects, rather than extensions of the Oasis recording credit.
