About Meat Loaf
Song-specific inspiration or recording background is not established for this entry. This sourced artist profile provides career context.
Meat Loaf was a Dallas-born singer and actor who brought musical-theatre scale to rock records. His early stage work included Hair and Jim Steinman's More Than You Deserve, and he appeared in The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Steinman's songs and Todd Rundgren's production shaped Bat Out of Hell in 1977. The partnership returned with Bat Out of Hell II in 1993, while later recordings included the Desmond Child-produced Bat Out of Hell III.
