ARTIST BACKGROUND

About Erasure

Song-specific inspiration or recording background is not established for this entry. This sourced artist profile provides career context.

Erasure is the songwriting partnership of Vince Clarke and Andy Bell, formed in 1985 after Bell answered Clarke's advertisement for a singer. Their work developed through Wonderland and subsequent albums, with singles including Sometimes, A Little Respect, Chains of Love and Blue Savannah. Clarke's electronic arrangements and Bell's vocals became the duo's defining combination. Their group catalog includes later projects such as The Neon, alongside separate solo and collaborative work pursued by both musicians.
