Stubborn Kind of Fellow
Marvin Gaye
1963
Annual listening-list association, not an original-release-date field. Original release year reconciled with reviewed recording-specific Artist Essentials evidence in v3.6.
Release: 1962
Release: 1962Source checked | Recent carryover
V3.6 reconciles the original release year with the reviewed Artist Essentials entry for this exact retained recording ID. Year precision is used; an album-first release is not silently replaced by a later single, reissue or annual-list year. The detailed label history documents a 1962 single release before the 1963 album and annual appearance. The museum's inconsistent 1961 shorthand is not used. The earlier supplied year 1963 is retained in the attribute-change audit.
The large badge identifies this listening list, not a newly issued recording. Later reissues and renewed chart popularity do not replace an original release date. How years are assigned.

Classic Motown - original Stubborn Kind of Fellow release
The label history places the completed recording in June 1962 and its release less than a month later. This establishes the original 1962 single, before the 1963 album and retained annual entry; recording-session and chart dates remain separate.
That Stubborn Kinda Fellow - original Tamla program
The original 1963 album program identifies Pride and Joy and retains earlier 1962 recording-release fields for Stubborn Kind of Fellow and Hitch Hike. The current 2014 copyright does not redate the original recordings.
