About Kris Kross
Song-specific inspiration or recording background is not established for this entry. This sourced artist profile provides career context.
Kris Kross joined Atlanta performers Chris Kelly and Chris Smith in a rap duo developed with producer Jermaine Dupri. Their debut album Totally Krossed Out appeared through Ruffhouse and Columbia in 1992, with Jump and Warm It Up introducing their rhythmic exchanges and melodic refrains. Television appearances and concerts supporting Michael Jackson brought the group to wider audiences. Da Bomb followed in 1993, retaining Dupri's production while extending the duo's early recording partnership.
