Inspiration and background
Researched recording background
Aubrey appeared on Bread's 1972 Guitar Man album. Its arrangement centers on classical guitar, orchestral strings and a music box, providing a more intimate setting than the electric guitar featured in the album's title song. This is the original Bread studio performance; its subsequent single circulation and Anthology placement do not move its album-first year to 1973 or 1985.
Evidence scope: Sourced recording, release or edition context; private songwriting inspiration is not inferred.
