Inspiration and background
Researched recording background
Love Affair's Everlasting Love was issued by CBS in December 1967, following Robert Knight's earlier recording of the Buzz Cason and Mac Gayden song. Steve Ellis sang over backing played by session musicians, with Mike Smith and Keith Mansfield shaping the orchestral production. The band's own recollections distinguish this hit single from an earlier, less elaborate attempt with Muff Winwood.
Evidence scope: Sourced recording, release or edition context; private songwriting inspiration is not inferred.
