About Ferlin Husky
Song-specific inspiration or recording background is not established for this entry. This sourced artist profile provides career context.
Ferlin Husky combined country singing with comedy and impersonations. After a Missouri upbringing, he worked in St. Louis and California, performing under the earlier name Terry Preston and developing his Simon Crum comedy persona. His Capitol recordings included the Jean Shepard duet A Dear John Letter, the lushly arranged Gone and the gospel song Wings of a Dove. Radio, television, films and stage performances extended his work beyond records.
