About Pearl Jam
Song-specific inspiration or recording background is not established for this entry. This sourced artist profile provides career context.
Pearl Jam formed in Seattle in 1990, with Eddie Vedder, Stone Gossard, Jeff Ament and Mike McCready central to its recording career. Dave Krusen played drums on Ten, the 1991 debut produced with Rick Parashar and mixed by Tim Palmer. Subsequent albums developed the group's combination of forceful electric arrangements and quieter melodic writing. The band worked repeatedly with producer Brendan O'Brien, including on Vs., Yield and Backspacer, and entered the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2017.
