Dashboard Confessional began as Chris Carrabba's acoustic outlet while he was also singing with Further Seems Forever. His earlier experience came through Florida's independent and hardcore music communities, including the band Vacant Andys. Screaming Infidelities became a signature part of the project's repertoire, and Vindicated connected it with Spider-Man 2. Carrabba later also formed Twin Forks, creating another setting for his interest in country, folk and roots-oriented music.
