About New Edition
New Edition developed in Boston's Roxbury neighborhood and recorded Candy Girl with producer Maurice Starr for Streetwise in 1983. A move to MCA brought the self-titled album and singles Cool It Now and Mr. Telephone Man. The group later worked with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis on Heart Break. Its members also pursued solo records and the separate trio Bell Biv DeVoe, before the New Edition reunion album Home Again brought the performers together in 1996.
