About New Kids on the Block
New Kids on the Block grew from Boston auditions organized by producer Maurice Starr and manager Mary Alford in 1984. The project combined pop singing, rap and choreography. Its early recording lineup included Donnie Wahlberg, Danny Wood, Jordan and Jonathan Knight, and Joey McIntyre. After a self-titled debut, Hangin' Tough introduced songs including Please Don't Go Girl and You Got It (The Right Stuff). Step by Step continued their recording and touring career.
